#4837 Sharps 1859/63 New Model Carbine, post-Civil War, 51XXX serial range, 50/70

Description

#4837 Sharps 1859/63 New Model Carbine, post-Civil War, 51XXX serial range, 50/70 conversion with the original percussion six-groove 52cal barrel having been sleeved with the 50/70 three groove barrel for use in the Indian Campaigns of the 1870s and 1880s. Fine bore and tight smooth action. The buttstock has a few serious bumps just behind the hammer (see photos) and average bumps and bruises over the rest of the stock and forestock. Basically it has good wood and has a VERY dimly visible DFC (David F. Clark) inspectors acceptance cartouche in the center of the stock left side, barely visible with the naked eye. The metal has scattered light to medium pitting over most of the surface area, markings are mostly visible on the frame but about gone on the barrel. About VG as described. $1875
