#4912 Colt 1849 Pocket Model, 5”x31cal, 151XXX and having the rare “iron trigger guard and back strap”
Description
#4912 Colt 1849 Pocket Model, 5”x31cal, 151XXX and having the rare “iron trigger guard and back strap” combination found in this serial range. These iron-strapped New York addressed Pockets were an attempt by the Colt company to use up parts from the closed London factory, but they were not too eagerly received by the American consumers, and thus the production was quickly returned to the brass strap versions. This revolver has medium wear overall, no finish aside of a mottled grey patina. Good markings except the cylinder has no scene and the number is too faint to make out, although it does appear to be the correct cylinder. Very good action and typical black powder bore with some light scattered pitting and roughness, but good rifling. VG grips with traces of varnish and no losses or repairs. Matching wedge number. Not a great Pocket, but a pretty scarce variation for the collector of this Model. VG. $995
Price: $995.00
