#4888 Hall 1819 Rifled Musket, possible Confederate
Description
#4888 Hall 1819 Rifled Musket, possible Confederate used and altered to percussion for use in the Civil War. This style of unusual alteration of the flint hammer by adding a percussion top portion is clearly identified in two or three books on Confederate weapons, and is considered as done by Southern arsenals and not by a known Northern arsenal. Conditionwise, this early conversion shows considerable well-done wood repair and restoration as can be seen in the photos below, and the metal has light to medium overall pitting with some areas of heavy pitting. The markings are easily readable (including a decernable cartouche) ...and mechanically it is in good order. For the Civil War collector who cannot cough up the major bucks for one of the actual southern mADE longarms, this is certainly an interesting weapon at a VERY affordable price. Good-Good+ $2895. (Please read sellers rules below ..and thanks for looking!!)
Price: $2,895.00
