#M749 U.S. Government 1909 Pattern Cavalry Curb Bit. The bit types shown in Fig, 1, Page 61 of BRIDLE BITS OF THE AMERICAN MILITARY, 1776-1945, by McPheeters & Dorsey. This bridle bit measures exactly 6 ¾ inches in length and 5 ½ inches across stamped (R.I.A.) on the other side is (1915) and stamped (3) for the size and the off side boss is stamped (U.S.) This bit is stamped (N.S.) (16F41,4MG90 the bit is stamped with 10 Proof Marks) this bit is Nickel and in good condition come with Curb Chain.
