#M726 U.S. Government 1892 Pattern Cavalry Curb Bit, Second Pattern. The bit types shown in Fig, 6, Page 56 of BRIDLE BITS OF THE AMERICAN MILITARY, 1776-1945, by McPheeters & Dorsey. This bridle bit measures exactly 6 ½ inches in length and 5 ¼ inches across stamped (R.I.A.) on one side and (1904) on the other side also stamped 1 for the size and the off side boss is stamped U.S. this bit is Nickel and in excellent condition
