Indian Wars M1876 Prairie Belt, First Model

Description

Item Number L100273. M1876 Prairie Belt for 45-70 ammo. This is the first true prairie belt, a first model. Subsequent models had a wider backing which served to protect the uniform from the oxidized lead that would rub off of the cartridge bullets. This belt came to me with only a fragment of the billet, but now has a new billet, professionally constructed and installed, and lacking only the inspector’s stamp and some wear, it looks totally original. Otherwise, the belt is complete with all loops, and all in good condition. Inscription on back in black ink is probably a unit designation, I haven’t tried to decipher it. Reasonably priced, due to the restoration, email me with questions and please check out my other items for sale.

Price: $595.00
