#4975 Colt S/A 7-1/2”x41COLT, 124XXX(1887)

Description

#4975 Colt S/A 7-1/2”x41COLT, 124XXX(1887). The rarest standard configuration of all the five common calibers of the Single Action Colts is a 41COLT in the 7-1/2” barrel length. Add to that is the fact that this is both a factory nickel gun and only the 3rd year of this scarce and obsolete caliber. This can be owned by collectors in those countries where obsolete center-fire calibers are acceptable (Canada, UK, etc). Of course, it must be checked with local and national laws to be certain, as this is just MY understanding. Condition-wise, this old cannon looks to have about 80% nickel and blending in places to bright steel …and thus hard to determine exactly how much finish remains. But there is some light freckle pitting in spots. So for sure there is SOME nickel missing. The action is VERY smooth, locks up well, but seems to be missing the “half-cock” notch on the hammer. Bore is about an 8+ to 9 on a scale of 10. The grips fit near perfectly, but seemingly SHOULD be the Eagle style in this serial range, and the only thought could be that either this gun was shipped far out of sequence with the actual manufacturing date, or it had an early grip change due to breakage or whatever. There are lots of pictures of this very rare Colt, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. A very, very rare caliber and length combo; I’ve only had three of this Single Action configuration in my 46 years of collecting. About Fine as described. $4750

Price: $4,750.00
