#3872 Winchester 1873-SRC, 38WCF, 465XXX(1893)

Description

#3872 Winchester 1873-SRC, 38WCF, 465XXX(1893) Decent enough little saddle carbine altho' has the typically well-used and somewhat weak bore (insofar as the rifling is concerned), but then the 3rd Model 1873s do tend to have shallower rifling than the earlier variations. Also, the 38WCF is a rather uncommon caliber in the carbines, and this caliber has a better overall performance than does the 44/40 insofar as ballistics are concerned. Good smooth action although the dust cover is sloppy and tends to fall off and needs tightening. The exterior is a brown patina and has some crud and minor rust build-up; the wood is serviceable but has tang slivers, repairs, and a crack at the comb which looks to have also been glue repaired and is solid. VERY desirable carbine “1873” marked ladder rear sight. There are lots of pictures of this neat old saddle gun, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. About Good+/VG as described. $1895
