#3870 Winchester 1873 OBFMCB, 79XXX, 2nd Variation, 44WCF with about a 7 bore
Description
#3870 Winchester 1873 OBFMCB, 79XXX, 2nd Variation, 44WCF with about a 7 bore but does have a slight ring about 6” from the muzzle. This may or may not affect the long range accuracy, oftentimes they aren’t affected at all as long as the ring is not too deep or too close to the muzzle. But this should definitely be considered if this rifle were intended for long range use. Standard 24” length, standard trigger and open low buckhorn rear sight and Rocky Mountain style front. Nice metal with mottled thin patina and some FAINT traces of what looks to be a plumming blue in the usual protected areas. The wood is fair in that the buttstock has a long crack on the left side but does not look to be anything other than a cosmetic problem. The forearm has a sizable long sliver on that same left side and it is well-worn on the edges and looks to have been chipped a LONG time ago. Overall, still a better-than-average ’73 ..and being a 2nd Model too. There are a lot of pictures of this old Winchester, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you.VG-VG+ as described. $1895
