#3635 Springfield 1868 Third Allin 50/70CF Trapdoor conversion, dated 1869

Description

#3635 Springfield 1868 Third Allin 50/70CF Trapdoor conversion, dated 1869 on the breechblock. Fine bore (about an 8-1/2 to 9 on a scale of 10), tight action. Fine smooth thin patina metal, VG markings, VG wood with dim illegible cartouche, correct rear sight and barrel headed cleaning rod. This is the two banded Allin made as a conversion and using only the left over surplus locks, but being almost the same as the later 45/70 Trapdoor in configuration. Well above the average for one of these old post-CW 50cals, and with a really nice bore. VG++ $1295

Price: $1,295.00
