#SE236 Smith & Wesson Model 1 ½
Description
#SE236 Smith & Wesson model 1 ½ second issue revolver. This is a 32 caliber rim fire, five shot fluted cylinder revolver. It has a 3 ½ inch rounded ribbed barrel and a spur trigger. This gun is also known as the new model 1 ½. It has varnish rosewood grips in the birds head style and a blue finish showing somewhere. General condition of this gun is fine plus and its functions in all respects. This series was produced from 1868 to 1875 with a quantity of about 100,700 manufacture. This gun represented an improvement over the earlier version, with the cylinder stopped in the top strap instead of the bottom strap as on the first issue. The serial number on this gun would indicate manufacture and late 1869. The barrel swings upward to allow the cylinder to be removed for loading and unloading. A rammer pin located below the barrel is intended to assist in unloading spent cartridges. Serial 466XX
