#SE248 Remington New Model Pocket Revolver Conversion
Description
#SE248 Remington New Model Pocket Revolver Conversion this was originally a 31 caliber percussion revolver, which was factory converted to chamber the 32 caliber rim fire cartridge. It has a five shot, non-fluted cylinder with safety notches on the cylinder shoulder, and 3 ½ inch octagon barrel and a spur trigger. It has a blue finish which shows wear and walnut grips in the square, butt design. This series was manufactured in its original percussion form from 1865 to 1873 with about 25,000 produced. This serial number indicates it is a third type, and was produced in late 1872 to early 1873. The factory cartridge conversion was probably done in the early to mid-1870s. A backing plate behind the modified cylinder held the rounds in place. Removing of the cylinder for loading was done by dropping the loading lever, pulling the cylinder pin and removing the cylinder. The overall condition of this gun is good to very good, and it functions in all respects. Serial 231XX
