Iver johnson cycle works 38 S&W tip up

Description

this is a rare Iver Johnson S&W 38 hammerless tip up with 6 inch
barrel. Most of these produced were in 32 cal the double action is good and timmig is correct. this has a flat hammer no spur. the finish is about 95% nickle with some scattered discoloration along the recesses of the barrell. there is one spot under the barrel forward about the size of a dime has flaked off. the bore has surface etching as one would expect from an antique peice such as this with a fair amount of rifeling present. the grips are genuine Mother of the pearl with the left grip displaying a small chip on the botton you have to look real close to see it has not detracted from the beauty of the pearl. the pearl has a lot of pretty blue green and pinks in it just real pretty.

the barrel address is very readable last patent date is 1893 serial # is 21,xxx
also has the fitchberg mass address. also note the vivid case color on the right side of hammer. this is a solid tight
antique peice circa is 1896
