#4263 Sprague & Marston Pepperbox, 6-shot, 31caliber but being longer barreled

Description

#4263 Sprague & Marston Pepperbox, 6-shot, 31caliber but being the longer barreled “belt size” with a 5” barrel group rather than the standard 4” barreled “pocket size”. Overall light scattered pitting on basically smooth thin brownish-grey patina metal. VG wood grips. Markings are G/VG and shows moderate wear to both the frame engraving and barrel address lines. The action is working well but does “free-spin” when at rest, so either these were made this way (as some were) or the cylinder stop is worn; I’m unsure which. Just a good representative specimen of this rather uncommon maker and of this quite uncommon size. About G/VG as described. $675

Price: $675.00
