#4672 Manhattan Belt-Navy, 6-1/2”x36cal, Fourth Variation
Description
#4672 Manhattan Belt-Navy, 6-1/2”x36cal, Fourth Variation in the 64XXX serial range, and being a late 4th it has the transitional tapered rammer that is seen as standard on the 5th Variations. Good ammounts of the deeper portions of the cylinder scene are clearly visible, although the lightly rolled inner panels are mostly about gone. There is also some liberal ammounts of thin silver wash still evident on the trigger bow and backstrap, and with an active imagination one could almost make a case for some VERY faint traces of thin blue on the barrel. Mechanically crisp and tight action. The big deficit on this otherwise pretty decent Belt-Navy is that the grips appear to be pretty good (but not great) replacements. They fit reasonably well, but as can be seen in the photos they are NOT a perfect fit. All-in-all, a very decent late Civil War era revolver. VG/VG+ as described. $995
