Description
#SE233 Forehand & Wadsworth side hammer revolver. This is a 22 caliber rim fire seven shot revolver with hammer mounted externally on the right side of the frame. It has a spur trigger, 2 ½” octagon barrel and bird’s head varnish walnut grips. This gun has a release lever under the cylinder pin, which allows for the removal of the cylinder for loading and unloading. This gun was made circa 1870 with a quantity of about 1000. It has blue finish showing some wear. Overall condition is fine to very fine and it works in all respects. This gun is virtually identical to the Ethan Allen & Co. (eighth issue) side hammer 22 caliber with the exceptions of the barrel markings denoting the manufacturer and the patent dates. Serial 247XX
