#4999 Colt S/A 7-1/2”x44WCF, 106XXX(1883), decent bore, w/letter
Description
#4999 Colt S/A 7-1/2”x44WCF, 106XXX(1883), decent bore, crisp action with all the positions on the hammer intact. The exterior is a neutral grey with some faint hints of some old Cold Blue having been wiped on the frame to hopefully disguise the freckle pitting at the lower rear of the sides. (See photos). The grips are replaced standard post 1894 hard rubbers and not the original Eagle style hard rubbers that it should have for a revolver in this serial range. They fit reasonably well but are NOT correct. Markings are good, but the “COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER” etched panel is long, LONG gone. It does also have the incorrect ejector rod head, as this should have the later half-moon type and not the older “Bulls-Eye” style. If I can find the later style head before selling this gun, I’ll gladly swap it out! Overall, this gun has a pretty decent look to it, and while it does have some pitting of mention, it is “in character” with the gun as a whole. It also comes with a Colt factory letter which is $150 (if purchased from Colt) and a very long wait. About VG. $2895

Price: $2,895.00
