#4895 Colt 1851 Belt Model (AKA “Navy”), 4th Variation 126XXX(1863)
Description
#4895 Colt 1851 Belt Model (AKA “Navy”), 4th Variation 126XXX(1863) Fine metal with no pitting or serious dings and 85% of the cylinder scene. It does look to have been toned up with Cold Blue and the barrel address is almost gone (see photos) either from holster wear or purposeful removal. It is well known that captured Northern-made guns would often have the barrel addresses removed by Confederate soldiers who did not want “Yankee markings” on their guns. The original walnut grips have 80%+ of their varnish but do have mentionable wear to the lower rim edges. Crisp smooth action and a VG bore with the usual darkened grooves from black powder use. There are lots of pictures of this neat old gun, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. VG++ $1895
