#0685 Colt Paterson capper (original) for longarm. This is an ULTRA-rare accessory, rarely EVER seen for sale and is the first one I have had in over 40 years of collecting. It is totally guaranteed 100% original and is in pretty decent shape overall with just average wear to the pressed-on face design from being carried in a pocket over a long period of time. This one is the larger diameter size, so was meant for use with any of the Paterson long guns, and is numbered 83 inside the lid and the matching number on the body frame. Mechanically, it is entirely usable and functioning correctly with all internals intact ...and even has the original ring loop for a leather carrying thong. It has the more desireable lid catch on the reverse side, and it too is working correctly. If you have a Paterson longarm ....or are just a serious Colt artifacts collector ...this is a VERY rare and VERY desireable piece of Coltiana, and likely will be the only one to come along in quite some time.
