this listing is for a real solid Wi 1873 rifle action smooth and crisp
I have fired this and it ejects and cycles corectly. I took it to the range
and fired some Bertram 38-40 shells though it my grandson was so exciited I thought he was going to pee his pants. he had never fired one befor his eye were big as saucers. H e had a real good time at the range. reminds me of the first time i fired a 76 winchester I think the cal was 40 65 some off the wall size it was a hoot ........this winney is a grey gun some cowboy had to shine it a few years ago. The barrel is round and is 24 inches the wood is excellent has been sanded no chips or cracks or splits it appears original to the peice. Has that deep red winchester look to the wood.
all marking are visable and can be read with the naked eye.
You will notice all the screw heads are in nice shape no all muscelled out from an over zealious screw driver............this also comes with a 5 peice cleaning rod set in the butt. the bore has some black powder etch with plent of rifeling to spin a bullet true. serial # denotes 1888
