#4942 Winchester 1873 OBFMCB 38WCF, 328XXX(1887)
Description
#4942 Winchester 1873 OBFMCB 38WCF, 328XXX(1887) manufacture, standard sporting rifle. Very handsome exterior with a smooth pale-brown patina and average wood. Buttstock with no serious damage or repairs; just the usual light dings and bumps that one would expect in a 120 year old gun, and the forestock has one bruise on the right side and a full length thin crack on the belly, but is solid and tight. VG barrel markings with standard buckhorn sight and Rocky Mountain blade front sight. Tight, smooth action, but must be cycled slowly or the hammer doesn’t stay at full cock. It will, however, cycle correctly if action is worked slow enough so it probably needs the bolt shaft (firing pin) peened a little so as to tighten the fit of the firing pin top to the frame. Bore has one blotch of pitting about the size of a dime halfway down the pipe at the 2 o’clock position (looking down toward the breech). This probably won’t affect the accuracy, as it is pretty far down the bore. Very nice exterior! VG/VG+ $1450
Price: $1,450.00
