#SE243 Colt 1862 Pocket Navy Conversion
Description
#SE243 Colt 1862 Pocket Navy Conversion Revolver this is a 38 caliber rim fire, five shot revolver with a 4 ½ inch octagon barrel and rebated cylinder. It was originally made as a 36 caliber cap and ball revolver from a period of 1861 to about 1873, with about 47,000 manufactured. Serial number would indicate that this gun was made in 1862. Conversion of this gun was probably done in the mid-1870s. The back strap and trigger guard are made of brass. The gun retains a patina finish. The roll engraving on the cylinder is still evident. Barrel and frame stampings are clear. The grips are walnut with a small chip out near the frame on the left side. As with all Colt conversions, the loading lever holes have been filled. However, no extractor was installed. All serial numbers match. Serial #566X
