an Allen feels like an XL 8 look at the front sight a very interesting & unique revolver indeed. Upon close examination There is slide safety on top it looks like a tip up similiar to S&W. its a safety slide for forward to fire or back to lock kinda neat never saw one like that befor.
to release the cyclinder and remove there is a detent button looks similiar to S&W pivot screw . this has a spring in side you push in on the screw and this will realease the cyclinder rod to remove cyclinder.
this guy Maltby was clever Curtiss is the money guy the investor.
if you look at the grips they have many designes on it fish snakes , butterflys,Flamingo, heart, ships , dome capitol, locust,. the top of the grips have their initials MC in like fashion of S&W . Oh the infringment wars of the 1880s this truely a neat and unique pistol is different from all the rest.............. Black powder Shells can purchased from Bertram
