#4976 Colt SAA 7-1/2x45COLT, 151XXX(1893),
Description
#4976 Colt S/A 7-1/2x45COLT, 151XXX(1893), VG bore and action. This looks to be an original factory nickeled long-barreled Single Action that someone made the mistake (in todays values) of renickeling the barrel when it lost some significant ammount of finish. In doing this, the barrel address is now quite faint, but still partially visible as hopefully can be seen in the photos below. The frame, cylinder, hammer, and straps appear to me to be the original nickel and are flaking and bubbling as one often sees in guns of this black-powder usage era, and there is none of the usual tell-tale dishing around the screw holes, etc. The grips are numbered inside with the serial number scratched in, and do have the correct internal border …and therefore do appear to be original Eagle grips. But with the high quality work being done these days (especially where Single Actions are concerned) I am hesitant to say unequivically that these are the original grips, since they do not fit 100% but are very slightly undersized on the straps. Overall, this is a really nice looking long-barreled old Hog-Leg, and if one can accept the fact that some owner 50-80 years ago thought that the barrel should be refinished, it will be a fine old 1890s revolver. VG++ as described. $3250
Price: $3,250.00
