#4952 Colt S/A 7-1/2”x45COLT, 27XXX(1876)

Description

#4952 Colt S/A 7-1/2”x45COLT, 27XXX(1876). This gun is a really, REALLY handsome early Civilian S/A! It looks almost unblemished and unused and suffers just minor aging to the finish and some brownish plumming and “flattening” to the usual glassy blue. The case colors are also muted and fading to swirly grays, but overall it is a VERY fine looking gun. The wood grips fit perfectly and look to have some traces of varnish remaining, and the bore, while looking to have been shot with black powder and put away dirty, is still very decent with just some darkening in the grooves. Action is tight and all clicks on the hammer are intact. HOWEVER, this must be said! ….With so much “cosmetic enhancing” going around …especially to Colt Single Actions, I’m hesitant to say this is 100% pure. I’ve not yet taken it apart because if it is correct, this could harm a VERY Fine gun if a screwdriver slipped. And if it is, in fact a very, VERY, good upgraded gun, it still is a real good value at this money and could be worth twice this much if proven “pure”. A beautiful and classic 3rd year production Single Action. There are lots of pictures of this handsome old Colt, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. Added note. I just removed the ejector housing to photograph the barrel number and see that it does NOT have the 1st model “captive rod” housing, so at the very least, that part is a post 1877 piece. About Ex.Fine as described. $4450

Price: $4,450.00
