#4856 Winchester 1886 RBFMCBwT/S, 32" barrel!!
Description
#4856 Winchester 1886 RBFMCBwT/S, very scarce overlength barrel with the double magazine bands, 32"x40/82WCF with decent bore and strong tight action. Manufactured circa 1889 (34XXX range), this very, VERY rare '86 has a smooth even brown patina on the barrel, slightly lighter on the frame, crisp metal and markings. The wood is very decent with no serious slivers, repairs, or deficits of mention. it also has the very desireable and correct "center post" tang sight which is correct for the Model 1886 in that the bolt will not push the sight post down when action is cocked. It also has the very desireable long-range rear barrel sight and pinched blade front sight. The one mentionable detriment to this VERY rare double magazine banded rifle is that the barrel has been dressed down about 3/16th of an inch, most likely due to a bad ding at the muzzle or a severely worn muzzle edge. It is not immediately noticeable, was obviously professionally done, and was certainly done a long time ago. But it does affect the value. Consequently, this very rare long barreled rifle is not an $8500 gun, but is VG/VG+ as described and a REAL good value at $4750.
Price: $4,750.00
