#101275 Colt SAA, #14208 - 1874
Description
<p>Item number 101275. This nickel plated Colt features a full complement of government inspector’s stamps (Ainsworth), but is probably a buy-back since the faint remnants of “45 CAL” can be seen on the left trigger guard frame. Placing a straight edge on the left frame reveals a slightly dished area where apparently the US was removed for civilian sale. The inspector marks are very worn and hard to find, especially in the case of the cylinder and trigger guard, but they are all there, including the barrel. All numbers match, and ejector housing is correct type I. Loading gate has turned dark, but assembly number is the same as on the frame under the TG. Hammer is correct as are the cylinder pin and ejector head. The ivory grips are NOT numbered to this gun, but they fit as well as I’ve ever seen. Action is reasonably tight and bore is dark and rough with distinct rifling all the way through. The gun shows considerable wear from regular use, but shows no signs of abuse, repair or modification. I can provide more photos upon request, and will gladly answer questions if you’ll email me. Thanks for looking. Scroll down to click on “Ads from seller” to see all of my listings.
