#4584 Winchester 1866-SRC, 44RF, late 4th model (154XXX), average black-powder bore and VG action.

Description

#4584 Winchester 1866-SRC, 44RF, late 4th model (154XXX), average black-powder bore and VG action. Fine metal and brass with an even plum blue on the barrel and magazine and a thin patina on the brass. It has the correct “L” carbine rear sight and pinched band front sight, VG fully legible address, hi-comb butt stock and butterfly lever latch. However, on closer inspection, one can see there was a typical “pony-in-a-golfer-hole” stock break at the lever latch and it was no doubt lost along with the original stock. It now has an original 1866 stock that matches the forearm very well, but it is off of an 1866 musket as can be seen in the fact that it has a sling swivel plug in the belly of the stock. But considering that almost any rough old “Yellow Boy” carbine will now run about $4500, this is a really NICE handsome gun for less money. There are lots of pictures of this neat old gun, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. About VG++ as described. $4375
