#CH006 Model 1840 Artillery sabre

Description

#CH006 Model 1840 Artillery sabre, almost certain to be Ames Manufacturing but the sabre was returned and refurbished for Indian War service, and consequently the throat markings were polished off ....a common occurance in this model. Missing the scabbard, but overall a VERY nice example of this desireable edged weapon that was used all through the Mexican War, the Civil War, and even up to and including much of the Indian War period. The grip on this sabre is exceptional and retains 90-95% fine wrap and wire. The pommel cap has a rack number of 77 and the correct ADK inspectors markings of Federal acceptance. The blade has been repolished as noted, and is still very bright and in basically unblemished condition. If you have a lower conditioned Artillery sabre that has a nice scabbard, here is a real opportunity to upgrade that set. If this had the scabbard, it would easily be in the 7-8 hundred dollar range. About Fine/Ex.Fine as described. $550. (Please read sellers rules below ..and thanks for looking!!)

Price: $550.00
