#4244 Manhattan Belt Navy, scarce 4” barrel, 52XXX range, converted to 38CF!!

Description

#4244 Manhattan Belt Navy, scarce 4” barrel, 52XXX range, converted to 38CF!! The conversion would have to have been done in the 1870s to a Civil War era gun, as this center fire cartridge did not come out until the mid 1870s. Now this is the first Manhattan conversion that I have owned in nearly 50-years of collecting….and while I have seen them in some books, I don’t recall ever seeing one “in-hand”. Condition-wise, this is a NICE gun! It has about a 90% coverage of a 70% density blue on the barrel, some thin blue remaining on the cylinder, traces of faded case colors on the frame, and 70% varnish on VG+ grips that have the usual bumps and dings. Gotta be a pretty danged scarce conversion for the serious conversion collector, and also a pretty neat gun to shoot, as the ammunition is easily obtained and not expensive to reload. Fine. $1495

Price: $1,495.00
