#0569 Starr 1863 S/A Extra-length barrel, 49XXX

Description

#0569 Starr 1863 S/A Extra-length barrel, 49XXX. This unusual 44-calibered revolver has what appears to be a 100% factory authentic 10-1/2" barrel with the correct Starr style rifling (...plus, the overall metal condition matches perfectly). It is pretty much an accepted fact that many of these manufacturers would make special order guns when paid for the service ...or as promotional items to influential personages, and this looks to be the case in this instance. This gun does have a few deficits, those being that the cylinder, while in the same approximate serial range, is mismatched to the frame. Also, the general mechanics are somewhat weak, as it needs help to advance the cylinder when cocking. (It seems to be needing a hand spring or perhaps a good cleaning and disassembly/reassembly to correct whatever is the problem.) The bore is very good, the metal is a nuetral grey with freckle salt-n-pepper pitting over the entire surface, original walnut grips are about very good. Markings are decent (no martial marks that I can see) and this is a rare chance to get a rare and VERY impressive gun. About G+/VG $2995 (Please read sellers rules below; good luck ..and thanks for looking!!)

Price: $2,995.00
